Today a steward’s key lives on their everyday phone or laptop, encrypted behind a PIN — which protects against a lost or borrowed device. Keykeeper goes a step further: it holds the key on a separate signer (a small hardware device, or an isolated extension), so the everyday app only ever gets signatures, never the secret.
